If the natural emptying of the bladder and kidney no longer works or very limited, a transurethral (through the urethra), a suprapubic (through the abdominal wall) bladder drainage or a percutaneous renal drainage is used.
The front part of the catheter is located in the bladder/kidney and is fixed there by means of a balloon, while the rear part is connected to a urine bag.
Closed urine drainage systems are preferred for hygienic and infection-reducing reasons. Accordingly, the product range of medfein consists exclusively of the closed systems TZ01 (2000 ml filling volume) and SLC19 (4000 ml filling volume).
