In addition to the TURP, resection electrodes are also used in gynaecology for the removal of myoma tissues and polyps in bladders and uterus.
Depending on the indication, other versions (ball, roller, knife) are used in addition to the loop version.
Especially in the case of coagulation (as a haemostatic method), these versions are favoured over the loop version due to their larger surface.
